In most cases the drug works by binding to specific sites in the cell, called receptors. As the receptor distance from the place of the drug, it is important that the drug is transported from place to place application activity. The drug binds to the receptor, and the strength of binding may be different, which determines the duration of the effect of the drug. It is desirable that the drug reaches the desired site of action, ie it has a selective effect, thus reducing the possibility of complications due to additional side effects. One or more drugs can affect the human body, and this effect is called pharmacodynamics. The body affects the drug occur in the process of absorption, metabolism and excretion of the drug. These processes are described pharmacokinetics.
The drug can be:
enteral - through the digestive tract, whether it is inserted through the mouth (oral), under the tongue (sublingual) or through the colon (rectum);
Parenteral - means the method of administration that bypass the digestive tract, so that it enters directly into the appropriate tissue healing forms such as ampoules, infusion solutions, such as: injection (injection) into a vein (intravenously), into a muscle (intramuscularly) or under the skin (subcutaneously). Parenteral drugs are mainly used to make the passage through the digestive tract broken down (eg insulin) or when it wants to achieve a quick effect. This kind of application has the advantage, because the drug reaches the bloodstream unchanged, or to a specific place, and action is fast and completely.

Common cold
Common cold is an acute viral inflammation of the nasal mucosa, which sometimes affects the throat, and also known as rhinitis. This is a very mild disease because it is not accompanied by fever, a clinically characterized by sneezing and runny noses, and throat feel dry. Common cold is the most common disease of humans in general.
The common cold caused by various respiratory viruses, as a rule they are less pathogenicity, ie less aggressive. The most numerous are the most important rhinovirus, but there are more than 100 different types. Then the frequency coming coronavirus, viruses and adenoviruses, while in small children are particularly important respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This disease can cause summer and enteroviruses.
The common cold should never be treated with antibiotics and treatment is symptomatic, including the elimination and alleviation of certain symptoms. Because patients are not febrile, and usually have no other general symptoms is usually not necessary or taken antipiretycs (medicines for lowering body temperature). It is necessary to take a higher amount of liquid and lay a serious effort for several days. Using the nose drops to reduce swelling of nasal mucosa and secretions. Antibiotics are only used to treat bacterial complications such as sinusitis or middle ear.
